Just Not My Day

My Day:
Woke up at 7:20 for my 8 o'clock class looking as rough as ever (NEVER signing up for that again).
Came back after to take a nap until my next class.
Missed my class because I was confused and thought for some reason it started at 11:15 (nope, it's 11).
Began studying for my history exam.
Went to Lab.
Got on freezing charter bus for lab field trip.
Performed the most simple lab at the hottest, mosquito-infested wetlands.
Returned to campus in a bus that had no air conditioning.
Started to check my mail, but I couldn't.
I left my keys on the BUS (ughhhh).
Now, I have a multitude of Spanish homework due at midnight, an exam to cram for, and Pretty Little
Liars Finale to watch (sad dAy).

But you know what, despite my day, I am thankful for great friends who cheer me up and drive me to go find my keys in sketchy buildings, a boyfriend to make me laugh it off, and a history essay that received an A+!

What can I say?

"Hakuna Matata" - it means no worries!

Happy Tuesday!

It's the Little Things

Who knew the smallest things could bring you the most joy in the world? From little acts of kindness, to a few words in a quote, these small minuscule things in life seem to brighten up my world every day. Earlier this afternoon I saw a 3 year old leap off a curb, clutching onto her mother and father's hands with all of her trust, and land with a squeal and a giggle as they shared that moment of pure joy together. It reminded me of my childhood and how blessed I was to have parents who loved me unconditionally and were always there to share those precious moments in my life. This also made me compare to my life today, I still experience great joy in things that are right in front of my nose and am grateful for people who continue to shape my life each and every day.

Mom and Dad, this one's for you.
These two people have influenced me in ways that I cannot even begin to describe. Their love for the Lord and for each other has given our family such a strong foundation that, though it is extremely sad, many families lack in this world today. I pray everyday that my future husband and I will have such a strong relationship like my parents, but of our own of course.

That tike to the left is me, exactly 13 years ago today, actually, and those are my perfect parents (my little brother is absent from the picture because he was too busy crying in the Crying Room at ski-school). Of course, we have all changed a little in size, but for the most part a picture of us today looks the exact same.

Each day, I try to find little things in my world that bring me great joy, but I have to remind myself that the biggest blessings come from people that I love.

In no way is my life perfect, but I have come to terms that I am extremely content and blessed to be surrounded by people who love me and who I love as well.

Stay Classy
