Finals Survival Kit

Semester finals are the tests that everyone, absolutely everyone dreads. As students stress to achieve the grade of their desire, let it be passing or making an A, professors worry of the fact that their teaching has been effective and successful.

I have been a worry-wart lately about my grades, but thanks to The College Prepster's Exam Grades, I have a new take on my worth. However, it is important to stay prepared and on top of things to achieve my personal goals (and maintain my scholarship too).

This is my Finals Survival Kit:

Finals Survival Kit
Birkenstocks: these shoes make for a great on-the-go shoe and
are a great stylish way to for comfortable feet
Sharpie Highlighters: you can't go wrong with a good set of highlighters.
Use these to keep the brain entertained as well as a tool for
remembering those tough terms
Spotify: This music station is by far one of the GREATEST THINGS
EVER INVENTED. Get it, now!
Apple Earphones: I am an Apple junkie, and really like the quality
of a good set of headphones. You can't go wrong with classic.
Starbucks: No one will ever argue against coffee when it comes to finals,
so whether it be your local shop or the largest chain in the world,
coffee trumps all.
Backpack: Use this all week long to carry your supplies to and from
the library. It will save your life by making things easier!
RayBans: These sunglasses will save your dark circles under
the eyes, especially after long nights of endless studying.
Lilly Pencils: Add some spunk to your studying with these adorable
Lilly Pulitzer pencils! The colors will just make you so happy
and joyful.

So with finals on the horizon, it is time to start getting things together. This kit will save me each day that I prepare for good grades on my exams. Do you have any things that you must have to keep going?

Good Luck on Finals!

Spring Smiles

Everything going on in our nation has kind of been a bummer lately, the Boston Bombing and the explosions in the little town of West, I live only ten minutes away from this town. So I have been trying to cheer up with some smiles, some Springtime smiles!

Rapid Recap

Since I haven't posted in a while, due to an extremely busy schedule, I have decided to give a recap on my life for the past couple of days.

1. I went home for the Easter Holiday, which lasted four days because I go to a Baptist school. Holla!
2. While I was home, I spent a lot of time with cows, ducks, and sheep. Strange, but I will explain later.
3. Threw a "personal" wedding shower for my cousin.
4. Easter was normal, but I wore wedges. Try hunting eggs in those with my competitive family.
5. I got to go shop with my adorable grandmother!
6. On my way home I got stuck in the WORST TRAFFIC EVER (i.e. I moved 5 miles in 2 hours).

Two adorable ducklings (I might have been slightly afraid
they were going to take care of their business in my hands.

Alice and Wonderland-themed tea party/shower.

My mom, Cammie (the bride), and I.

Cousin lovin'.

Flying my kite the Easter Bunny left in my basket.

Now I am back to school, back to the real world, and ready to learn!

Crunch Time

With summer just around the corner, and winter coming to an end, not everyone is in their super hot rocking bod' for swimsuit season. Here at Baylor, we have all access to a gym, and it's FREE. They literally have every kind of equipment you can think of here, and when no one feels like going to do traditional gym-equipment-stuff, they can go jump on the tallest indoor rock wall. We've got it pretty good here and are blessed to have access to great amenities that Baylor has to offer.

Anyways, with swimsuit season looming over my head, I have been forcing myself to get back into shape. Let's just say it has been a while since I have been in good shape. My  favorite machine in the gym is the elliptical. Using this tool and all of its many, many settings, I can have a different workout each day of the week! I also like the stationary bike, but the elliptical is still my favorite. It's hard for me to not grow boredom out of exercising, so I just stay on the machine for a little over an hour.

Exercising is a vital necessity in people's lives, especially young adults like myself. I really hope that I can stay focused long enough for it to pay off.

Beauty is Pain

Most girls get their ears pierced around the age of ten. My mom always told me, from the first time I brought it up, that I could get mine done when I turned thirteen - just like her. When that time came around, I was so busy with sports and my teenager lifestyle that I had no real desire to get them done, plus I was really too busy. People would always ask me why, and I was simply say, "It makes me unique." Not having my ears pierced was always my go-to answer to "Never-Have-I-Ever, which always scored the win along with never have been to Disney World.

Over Spring Break, I decided to take this monumental step in my life, and break the uniqueness, to get my ears pierced. Let me tell you something, it hurt. A lot. People always say it's just like a pinch, but I have news, it hurt knowing that I was having something poke all the way through my poor ear lobe.

Side note: I have an extremely low pain-tolerance. I bruise like a peach.

However, even though I was a big baby, I was brave enough to complete the task with tears and with many giggles of excitement and fear (yes my mom held my hand). My ears are as beautiful as ever, now, and I am so excited to be able to cross this thing off of my bucket list!

Here is the start of my earring collection!

You cannot go wrong with pearls: always a
good plan to dress up ANY outfit

Spring is in the Air

Springtime is one of my favorite times of the year. The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, the weather is perfect, and the outfits are adorable. Not to mention, it's a sign that school is almost out and summer is close!

Spring weather, though perfect, can be unpredictable. I live in Texas, so it's especially crazy how the temperature can go from a scorching 83 degrees to a freezing 37 degrees overnight. You have to be prepared to wear anything in this weather, so changing it up is fun, for sure.

This is definitely my "go-to" outfit for those chilly days that start in the fifties and end in the high sixties. The boyfriend-cut jeans cuffed are a great fit that look fabulous with my Brooks Brothers Driver Shoes. I really think that these shoes are the answers to my prayers. They are perfect. I add a tucked in solid t-shirt for keeping simplicity of the outfit and of course wear belt to pull it all together. A nice cardigan is a great way to look clean-cut and take care of that cold spring chill in the morning. For jewelry, the essentials, I think bright, contrasting, fun colored earrings really accent the outfit in a preppy way.

I hope that this spring brings you many lovely memories full of joy and peace!
